The Global Orphan Project:  Orphange in Port au Prince

We know that there are many relief agencies working right now in Haiti.  Crossway Community Church has decided to partner with the Global Orphan Project.  Please read the letter below sent to Crossway.  You can donate to the Global Orphan Project at Crossway Church on Sundays.  Clearly write 'Haiti' on the memo line of your check and drop it into the offering basket on Sundays, or mail it in to our office (351 Oak Place, Unit F.  Brea, CA 92821).  100% of your donation will go to helping the orphans.

Dear  Pastor Choi & Crossway Community Church congregation,

                I am so moved by your generosity and vision to help the country of Haiti. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and has many struggles. After this week’s earthquake, Haiti will need our help and assistance more now than ever before.

                The Global Orphan Project is a nonprofit, whose vision is to help orphaned and abandoned children in countries of poverty. The majority of our homes are in Haiti. We have over 2,000 children in our care in Haiti. Our goal with each village is to build an “orphan village.” Each village includes children homes, a church, school, and some include a medical facility. Each of these homes has a nurse on staff and mammas who care daily for these children. Our vision is that when we build a home, we want it to be self sustaining in 3 years. To do so, we try and build some sort of business that can provide enough money to do this so that these homes can survive on their own without us providing for them after 3 years. We also encourage the church to participate in the children’s lives and become one large family.   All of our staff in the countries are locals who were born and raised in Haiti. We do this because they truly know which kids need our help the most and already have the respect of the communities.

                Since the earthquake hit, we are expecting many children to come into our care. It is absolutely heart wrenching to hear some of the things Haitians are having to go through and horrible living conditions. We are preparing for hundreds of children to come into our care within the next few weeks. Many of these children will have lost parents and have nowhere else to turn. This is where you come into play. We are asking you to please come on board with us. We want to take these kids in who otherwise have nowhere and no one. We want to raise these kids to love the Lord.  We want to give them an education they would have never otherwise had. We want to give them medical attention and help raise them to someday have the desire to help us change their country for the better. As for our organization we believe that 100% of your donation should go straight to the children. We have a private group that pays for all overhead costs so that when you donate every cent goes to the cause- helping these children.
